  1. Having an Amazon KDP account has been a blessing to me and my family. And reading their conditions, I feel they are reasonable. I know that they have the freedom to close our account at any time, but if they abide by what is stated here, then most of us should be safe!

  2. Thank you for the insight on KDP. This article contains a wealth of knowledge on dealing with the rule that could lead to an account being terminated. It is my hope to one day publish; however, that’s a day or two away. I have bookmarked your website for further reading. Thank you again for pointing out the infractions that could lead to disaster for any author.

  3. Hi. I’ve heard of Kindle but I’ve never heard of KDP before.

So Amazon can terminate an account even if nothing was ever done wrong? If that’s the case, then that’s incredibly petty. Iknow I would fight to get my account back if I know I was always following the guidelines and not doing anything wrong.

We can all agree that making sure to read and understand guidelines is incredibly important for any website. I’m not saying that Amazon wouldn’t have valid reasons to terminate an account. There can be very legitimate reasons to do so. What I am saying is that it wouldn’t be fair to do it and not give a reasonable explanation for that action. It can also be that way with Facebook and YouTube.

But for the 10 things that can get you banned from KDP are all completely understandable. If it’s not worth the risk, I know I’m not going to do it. This is especially true if I were to try to make a side hustle or even a career out of it. This is important information for anyone to read. Thank you very much for sharing.

    1. KDP is Kindle Direct Publishing. Yep Amazon has full control. We agree that a specific reason should be given but they only give general reasons instead of detailed answers..
